Vintage Edge Shaver

This is a Very nice old  Spoke shave.  Measures 7 1/2" long.    Has its cutter.  In very good condition....VERY DIFFERENT shape...just look at these photos.  I received the following information about the tool: " It is an "edge shave" made by I.P. Hyde of Southbridge, MA. The Hyde Corp. is still in business, and they make pretty good quality putty knives and things like that, but they started out as a blade/knife maker in the 1870's, making sharp hand tools for the hand trades: shoemaker, furrier, paper hanger, linoleum floor layer, cap maker, cigar maker, broom maker, even banana cutter(!). Alas, all extinct trades... I found this particular tool in their 1914 & 1919 catalogues and it was used by shoemakers to cut/shape the outside edges of leather shoe soles to fit onto the shoe being made or repaired. It was no longer listed in the 1928 catalogue."
